Welcome to Infant Sleep Info
I can only assume that you've found this website because your child has some kind of infant sleep problems or you want to find out how you can help your infant can get a better night's sleep.

If you are like many parents who are in a similar situation, you're probably feeling exhausted and desperate following night after night of very little sleep or possibly no sleep at all. Whilst some parents feel that this is just a stage their infant is going through and something that they have to weather, I'm very pleased to be able to tell you that it is NOT a stage in your infant's early life that you must suffer ...... there are reasons for what is happening and there are solutions and techniques you can master that will resolve the problem and help your child to sleep through the night.
Firstly though, you should consider how long your infant is actually sleeping at the moment and how this compares to recently released figures for average infant sleep requirements at different ages. Some parents find that whilst they are not getting as much sleep as they would like, their child is in fact sleeping the average, or even above average, number of hours per day that is expected for an infant of that age.
If however, your infant is sleeping less than the average number of hours for their age group then it could be due to certain set infant sleep habits that they have developed and that could continue indefinitely unless you do something to break them and create a better infant sleep schedule.
I'll also take a look at two other infant sleep issues that parents often have lots of questions about:
Firstly, the disturbing and scary disorder called Infant Sleep Apnea and I'll discuss exactly what this is, what it means to your infant if he or she suffers from sleep apnea and also what you can do about it.
Also, we'll examine the information that's available about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (or SIDS) and although very little is known about the causes of SIDS I'll outline what can be done by parents to lessen the risk as much as possible.
